Highlights

When we came to Kaş this year, I now understand why my heart was beating so fast while searching for that place on the map. What I was looking for was simple: somewhere away from the crowds of Kaş, with fresh air, beautiful views, and a soul. And then that name appeared on the map… Small Farm Kaş.

At that moment, I felt it—this place looked exactly like the home, the life I had been imagining in my mind for years. We only had one available day, so we immediately searched for it on Instagram. The photos we saw were absolutely mesmerizing. But what truly captured us was that this farm is built around a sustainable way of living.

Our curiosity and excitement about zero-waste and sustainable living instantly doubled. We said, “No matter what, we have to see this place.” Even though we learned at first that it was fully booked, fate had other plans. The founder of the farm, Yücel Abi (our conversation quickly shifted from formal to friendly), called us back and said there was a one-day availability. Without hesitation, we changed our plans and set our route here.

After passing through breathtaking Kaş landscapes, we finally arrived at that peaceful village. There were only a few village houses around. As I waited by the iron gate for my partner to drive in, I couldn’t help but walk excitedly towards those blue-doored houses. We were welcomed by white ducks and Yücel Abi, whose energy instantly embraced us.

The moment you step into the place, the sense of calm and diversity is incredible. There are such unique plants and such a thoughtful layout—it’s clear that all of this beauty is the result of great effort and dedication.

The Heart of Permaculture in Kaş

Small Farm Kaş is not just a place to stay; it’s a living example of a sustainable lifestyle movement that is gradually growing in Turkey. During our conversation with Yücel Abi, we understood the philosophy behind it much better. Permaculture, the key to sustainable agriculture, truly comes to life here. Plants and trees that were once abandoned have been brought here, revived, and connected with each other.

The houses on the farm are also a reflection of this philosophy. Many elements are created by combining repurposed materials. Even though we visited during the hottest days of summer, we were surprised to see that there was no air conditioning. But this is no coincidence! There is such a well-designed natural airflow system, supported by deep knowledge… Even the positioning of trees according to their type and size plays a major role in this comfort.

We felt that Yücel Abi’s main goal is for visitors to benefit from these ideas, discover plant diversity, and gain awareness about sustainable living. As a couple dreaming of building our own village life in the future, this place expanded our perspective in such a meaningful way. Small Farm Kaş became more than just a one-night stay for us—it became a true source of inspiration.

If you’re looking not only to relax during your Kaş holiday but also to nourish your soul, connect with nature, and explore sustainable living, make sure to add this place—searchable as “Kaş Village House” or Small Farm Kaş—to your list.
