The PATH/HERITAGE project, launched in the Kaş district of Antalya, became the stage for an international artistic gathering focused on preserving cultural heritage. Featuring 5 artists from the UK and 6 from Turkey, the project saw participants trekking along the Lycian Way, experiencing the region’s historical and natural texture firsthand.
Throughout the project, the artists did more than just walk; they drew inspiration from the landscape to create new works and engaged with local communities and authorities to raise awareness about protecting the Lycian geography. Reinterpreting this thousands-of-years-old route through the lens of art was one of the most striking aspects of the initiative.
Set in a geography shaped by the ancient Lycians and enriched by subsequent Turkmen migrations and Yörük (nomadic) culture, the project highlighted the vital importance of passing down historical and cultural heritage to future generations. The video production and creative content were spearheaded by Sosyal Zeplin Creative, who transformed the project’s spirit into a compelling visual narrative. By bridging art and nature, the PATH/HERITAGE project aims to leave a lasting legacy for the future through the unifying power of creativity.
