In June 2025, we took a radical leap, leaving the corporate grind of Istanbul behind to embrace the slow-living rhythm of a peaceful village in Kaş. Since then, Kaş has transformed from a mere vacation spot into our way of life. In our ongoing journey of discovery, one specific location has captured our hearts, perfectly embodying the authentic spirit of this region: Inceboğaz Beach, located right at the entrance of the Çukurbağ Peninsula.
Where Geography Becomes an Experience
Inceboğaz takes its name from its fascinating geographical positioning—the “Thin Strait.” It is the narrowest point of the peninsula, a slender bridge of land where you can experience two completely different aquatic worlds with just a few steps. On one side, you have the wild depth of the open sea; on the other, the serene, mirror-like stillness of a sheltered bay.
While it shares the majestic vistas of locations like Darboğaz in Fethiye, Inceboğaz wins from a user experience (UX) perspective due to its accessibility. Being just a 15-minute journey from the center of Kaş with easy transport options puts it a step ahead.
One Location, Two Different Seas:
The Sheltered Bay (Marina Side): Facing the marina, this side hosts a well-organized facility managed by the Kaş Municipality. With its crystal-clear, shallow, and remarkably calm waters, it’s a sanctuary for families with children or anyone seeking that “glass-like” sea experience.
The Open Sea Side: For those who crave a more rugged and natural atmosphere, this side faces the open Mediterranean. It can be playful with waves and a refreshing breeze. You can simply toss your camping chair onto the rocks, set up your own umbrella, and enjoy the horizon. The shoreline here is a mix of sand and pebbles, allowing you to enter the water either from the beach or by stepping off the rocks.
A Note for Snorkeling & Exploration Enthusiasts
As my husband Akın always emphasizes, a snorkel is the very first thing you should pack for Inceboğaz! The crystal-clear underwater world around the rocky formations is packed with marine life. Entering the water from the rocks feels almost like stepping into a natural swimming pool—making it an incredibly safe and highly rewarding option for confident swimmers.
